What are credit cards for…

For buying concert tickets of course. :D Just bought tickets to see Tracy Chapman on 21 June and Suzanne Vega on 14 July. Whee. And hopefully we’ll actually pay them off by the time of the events too (although it’s not very likely what with the dreaded car servicing looming in the near future). Damn concerts are expensive… :O No wonder I haven’t been to see anyone in years. But anyways, I’m all excited about the prospect of some good live music.

The schedule for this summer is pretty much sorted now:

June: Tracy Chapman + England (work + Riina)
July: Suzanne Vega + Italy + 30th Birthday + Susie over + DBTL/Kotkan meripäivät (maybe)
August: England (work + hols with S)

I’m feeling very positive at the moment. A lot of air has been cleared recently and I feel enthusiastic about what the summer and future brings. See, even my desk has my lucky number all over it. ;)

Shadow room lamp control

I bought this radio remote flash trigger from ebay at some point and it came today. Yay for no more cables! It came from Hong Kong and the most amusing thing about it is the ‘manual’ that came with it. Here’s a brief description of the device for you:

The lamp supersonic wave of shadow room remote controls the trigger, and is to be used the camera sychronously to touch of the shadow room lamp control package, and forms by two parts on signal transmitter and the receipt trigger, and uses the nothing thread to remote control method work.

It all makes sense though! :D So far I’ve tested that it works (i.e. fires the flash) but I haven’t really tested how well yet. Will be interesting to see if there’s a delay or some other problems as this was a really cheap buy, nothing like a Pocket Wizard or such. I’m thinking this bit of the manual touches on the subject of reaction time:

Receiving the trigger use exchange power supply, by FM’s control deciphering work, the reaction velocity is sensitive to the work loss of supers strong trunk ability and very low, can the synchronization of the satisfied camera of various type shutters gleams usefulness.

I do sincerely hope my camera will be ‘satisfied’. :| I suppose I’ll just have to keep in mind the warnings from the ‘Pay attention’ section:

3. avoid falling to fall colliding the hard thing.

Ha!

I bet you thought it couldn’t get any better. Well check this out. What do my socks, calendar, pen and new backpack have in common? Hmm. :D Isn’t that a sight to behold. Eh. Eh??

Perhaps when I’m done the whole world will be pink and flowery. Aww yes.

The winter olympics opening ceremony was a bit long-winded wasn’t it. I think what was missing, was flowery backpacks. I did like the Y.M.C.A. bit though.

Go tobogganers!

Miksei aina voi olla perjantaaaaaai….

Thank fuck it’s friday. This week seems like it’s gone on forever. Ugh.

It’s quite breezy and chilly in London, but the sun’s been peeking out here and there which is nice.

I was supposed to write this friend-neglection journal, but as blogger was buggered for most of the day (or for the moments I would have had time at least), I didn’t. So there.

What is it with the baby boom. Slow down people!! Still, lots of love to Johanna and Pasi who are expecting a sister or a brother for Olli. <3 <3

Right, we’re gonna go and do some shop… err relaxing with Susanna now. And tomorrow Stu comes (if he can find his suitcase and stops being Mr. Grumpypants). Yay.

How do you like my new backpack that I got for a fiver! Apparently it’s not ‘just for kids’. :D

New hair + new phone

Well, I did indeed finally go to the hairdresser today and the results look something like this.

Lots of stripy things and stuff. But I can’t wait until I can actually style it myself. Have to wait for two days before washing after it’s been dyed. Humph. Hairdressers always style hair in a ‘flat’ way (even if it just looks plain messy in the pictures. Hmm.). I want BIG hair. :D

In other news, my mobile phone broke over the weekend. Well as in it still works other than I can’t hear anything the other person says. Which in some cases is an added bonus, but after a few days it gets a bit boring. Today I finally got tired of answering the phone and going ‘I can’t actually hear you so I can’t help you’, and after a very unsuccessful consultation with the insurance company (129e excess!!) I went and bought a new phone myself. It’s a bit weird. And someone will be pleased to see it’s a clam type thing. Although I don’t really like the flippety flip action. Hopefully I’ll get used to it. Anyways, it was the only one (Nokia that is :P) which had both a camera and a radio in my price range.

(And yes, I’m hoping my iPod sock will instantly make the phone look cooler. :P Or does it work in reverse… :| )

No shoes for months

Yay! I’ve got a new lens. :D Jenni was selling her sigma 28mm EX DG macro f1.8 and even though it pretty much fitted my lens ‘need’ I didn’t think I could afford it (well I can’t :|). But then I raided my loose change jar, which I have been collecting coins into for about two years (from the floor, from Stu’s pockets, from underneath the bed etc.). And they added up to almost exactly the amount she was asking for it! Talk about destiny… Now, all the smart alecs back there who wonder why I didn’t just put that money towards paying off my camera… erm… well hush. Don’t mess with fate k.

It’s so lovely. It is.

Weak

Well I couldn’t resist the urge in the end. I tried to fight it, I really did. But in the end it was no good. I just had to get these lilac scented furry dice. How cute are they! :D

The picture is a bit small as the phone converted it somehow strangely when sending to email. *shrug*

My Bobzi <3

I’ve never actually had a car of my own before. It’s always been the man’s car, which I drove from time to time. Well, my darling boyfriend was gracious enough to let me treat this car as my first own car. And I can’t tell you what a huge difference it makes! I’ve completely fallen in love with the car, which I never thought possible before. I’ve got this urge to take care of it and drive it (and.. umm.. buy girly stuff and stuffed animals with suction cups, but I will resist), which is cool, but very new to me. :D And it’s so cute and minty green. We agreed that next time we buy a car, Stu will get a big manly car, which will be his then. But I appreciate the opportunity to find out what it feels like to consider a car your own baby. And it kind of took me by surprise how attached to it I could get. And how quickly! Anyways, thank you for letting me find out babe. <3
