I’m back at home, feeling relaxed but also a little beaten down and broken. On the morning of the last full day in Finland I woke up, stretched, heard an almighty ‘crunch’ sound and felt pain like no other. It felt rather like my head had come unstuck from my neck. After that I pretty much couldn’t move. We had to cancel our rental car and plans of driving around the countryside. Instead, I spent most of the day at the doctor’s office getting jabbed in the butt with muscle relaxant and painkillers. Not my idea of fun. Even though I got a doctor’s note saying that I couldn’t (or shouldn’t) fly, I decided it would be too costly and too much of a hassle to try to get new flights… In hindsight, not my brightest moment as the flight was pure agony. But alas, I made it home. I didn’t however make it to Nikki’s hen do tonight, for which I’m really bummed out about. I had such a cool 80’s outfit thought out and everything! 🙁
Despite the tragic end to the holiday, most of the two weeks were pretty perfect. I got a lot of sunshine, saw friends and new babies, read books, ate a lot of good food… and in general just chilled out to the best of my abilities. I’ve added some pictures to the blog retroactively, but if you want to see all of the holiday snaps you can head here.

my… your holiday looks as if it was brilliant. Isn’t it always the case that one needs a vacation just to recover from a holiday (the good ones anyways!)
