I’ve got most of my stuff packed for flying to London tomorrow. Admittedly, there wasn’t that much to pack as apparently I’ve got quite a lot of clothes and stuff at Sooz’s, left over from July when I was lugging all sorts of wedding stuff back and couldn’t fit other things, like clothes, into my suitcase. It feels like I’ve been home a minute. Well, a week and a bit feels pretty much like a minute in any case. I can’t wait to get to the point where I can just stay at home for like three months or something in a row! What luxury that must be. 😀 I bet when that day comes I’ll be missing the travelling (and the airport shopping) though. Grass is always greener huh.
This name change business has seriously fucked up my flight-buying as these days airlines insist that your flights, passport, credit card and frequent flyer card are all in the same name, showing your marriage certificate won’t do. I used to buy my flights London-Helsinki-London, but since my name and passport changed in Finland I had to get a one way ticket before the wedding and then buy my flights from Finland for this round. But now that I’ve been trying to buy flights for next month, I’ve come to realise how much more difficult (and expensive!) it is to buy flights from this direction. I couldn’t even get a flight for 5th of September (without paying €400 one-way), like I was trying to, and have to fly in the evening of the 4th. And I have to fly to Stansted. Which is a pain. And even with that I couldn’t find a flight for coming back on the 12th, so I just got a one-way flight. Hopefully my name change things go smoothly in the UK next week and then I can try to get my normal Lon-Hel-Lon to get back in September. It’s just that it’s quite close already! I used to get my flights two months ahead so I’d always have the next months return to London ready at hand. Oh well, hopefully I won’t have to worry about this kind of stuff for much longer. Mind boggling.
